Pendleton's wool and cotton blend blanket with patterns and colours resembling the landscape of the dormant Diamond Peak volcano. The unnapped surface of the fabric makes it seem thinner than Pendleton's napped blankets, since they did not go through the last phase of combing the wool fibers. This is done so that the pattern appears sharper and clearer.
