Pendleton's wool and cotton blend blanket with a centred motif representing Bridge Creek, a sometimes calm, sometimes tempestuous, waterway running through Mitchell, Oregon. In this pattern, layers of diamonds and zigzags represent colourful, complex hills of the area's dramatic geology. The unnapped surface of the fabric makes it seem thinner than Pendleton's napped blankets, since they did not go through the last phase of combing the wool fibers. This is done so that the pattern appears sharper and clearer.
